Our shared book this week is jack and the beanstalk. We have been learning to understand what we read, so to help us with this we used pictures to retell the story in the right sequence. Do you know the story?
We put on our science hats in Rm 6 and used a bottle to blow up a balloon! We used yeast, sugar and warm water. These ingredients work together and produce a gas which in turn helps blow up the balloon!
We used this experiment to help us with our instructional writing!
We have been doing report writing this week in Rm 6. We researched about Polar Bears and learnt lots of interesting facts! We organised this information into the different parts to a report and then put it all together to write fantastic reports on Polar Bears!
Do you know some interesting facts on Polar Bears?
On Friday we made feeling puppets. We discussed all of the different emotions that we can feel and what they look like. We then made puppets showing one side feeling happy and one side feeling sad or angry. Can you tell which emotions our puppets are feeling?
On Thursday we had two firemen come visit our class with room 7. We learnt about how quickly fires can start and how low we have to be to escape from the smoke! Do you have an escape plan in your house?
We had lots of fun reading new books and learnt about whats happening during their school holiday program. Would you like to go along to some of the great activities they have planned? Pop into the town library and pick up one of the information booklets which tells everything that will be happening!
